How To Have a Day Off
Who ever posts something new on their blog on Saturday? Let me think… ME! It wouldn’t be a diary if I skipped a day…
I had a fabulous day yesterday. I spent it with my kids playing, reading, painting (yes, I’m practically involved with our new house coming up all together), cooking, dressing up, even swimming and so much more… I LOVE my days off. I like to spend them either with my family or just by myself. I try not to work and do something I never do when I work. But best of all, my days off help me rejuvenate, refresh and relax (hmm, seems like I just came up with 3 R’s).
But I didn’t mean to write about myself. I want to write about you! Are you a person who works hard? How often do you take your day off? What do you do when you finally have one? Do you squeeze your work load into it just because “you’re too behind” or do you clean up whole house?
I want to encourage you to plan your days off. Put them into your datebook, make a decision not to work that day, choose activity you want to do that day and stick to your plan. You can adjust it as you go, but be creative (I had to do some painting yesterday, but as it was my day with kids, I made it a fund activity with my little one helping). Remember, if you want to have a day off, you need to make it a day off. And then you need to keep it that way. Everyone needs some time off. Even God worked 6 days and got some rest on day seven. So go ahead and make one. And then another one. And then another…
Good luck!
