2. What is your business’ strongest feature? What makes you stand out?
People relate to me because I’ve walked in their shoes. I speak from my direct experience and help “normalize” the craziness and chaos that mompreneurs feel when they are trying to run a business while running a family. I’ve also learned to leverage Social Media to market my business and train mom entrepreneurs to do the same so they can market less, but have all the clients and projects they want.
3. Why are you in business? What keeps you doing what you do and fuels your passion?
I need to work like I need to breathe. My work is an expression of my skills, talent, passion, purpose, creativity and ambition. Motherhood is the most rewarding and most challenging job I’ve ever had, but it doesn’t use up all that I have to give. When I’m helping other women do the same through their work while keeping their family their first priority, I am filled up and have a deep sense of satisfaction.
4. What are you most proud of in your business?
That I’ve stayed true to the people I most want to serve. I’m passionate about making a difference for moms and their families. I’m not just looking to make a million dollars. I feel so gratified that I can run a successful business driven by my values and principles. I’m also totally proud that I am providing a role model for my kids. This is what commitment and following your dreams looks like!
5. If you could give other business owners one piece of advice, what would it be?
Get help. Too often, we feel like we can’t ask for help because we should be able to do it all, or because we can’t justify the expense. Be creative. Barter or trade services with others. Whether it’s a mentor, a coach, a babysitter, a bookkeeper, an errand runner, a virtual assistant, web designer, whatever. You can’t be all things to all people all the time. Learn this early and seek help in your home life and your business life. You’ll be in much better shape to grow and achieve the success you deserve.
